"Why AARDIE'S, you might ask. Growing up in Toronto and playing mostly hockey in the winter and baseball in the summer, my team mates afforded me a 'nickname' which has stuck with me for over 50 years. It is AARDIE, which came from my physical appearance of a bigger nose so hence it was Aardie the Aardvark, which in turn just became AARDIE.
Over the years of playing sports at a very highly competitive level there was things in certain sports that stuck out as basic, but one in particular raised my eyebrows when I got married and had children. As they were getting older and hockey was a sport they enjoyed, I said I need to figure out a way to help them skate faster, as well as trying to teach them the perfect stride. This was a challenge as I knew in my mind I had to create a weight that would allow them to pick up their feet and at the same time allow them to lengthen their stride. At that time there was a myriad of products out on the market that were weighted, but none did the trick for me, so I put on my thinking cap and started to come up with a version that over 20 plus years of trial and error and many different prototypes has led me to 'THE ULTIMATE EXERCISE AND FITNESS AIDE' Not only did I invent a product that would make my kids better skaters, but they also became better athletes. The final version is the completed product in which I have patents in both the U.S. and CANADA is called 'TURBO STRIPS'."
Not only are "TURBO STRIPS" a unique weight attachment that are useful for athletes, but I believe as well does Dr. MICHAEL FORD (see testimonial) and others that the bigger user of the "TURBO STRIPS" will be the geriatric population where exercise is one of the chief areas that DR's from all around the world are stressing to patients as they age. The uniqueness of "TURBO STRIPS" are that they can be attached to almost all footwear that has 5 eyelets. The "strips" come with slots so the lace can be placed inside the hole without removal of the lace itself from the shoe. This was a huge stumbling block that took me many years to figure out, as people did not want to have to remove the lace to attach the weights as it was very tedious and time consuming. Once I had the final vision it was back to the patent office with the drawings and thankfully they also saw the vision of the product and awarded me a U.S. PATENT, which in turn also allowed me to obtain a CANADIAN patent. "TURBO STRIPS" now became a product, but I wasn't done yet. I had to not only envision both athletes and geriatrics using them for health and fitness, but there was something missing. That final something came as I was driving down the street on a cold winter night just after dinner. I almost hit a couple that were taking in their after dinner walk holding hands. I had an AHAA moment right there. What if I could include a reflective inside the packaging which will allow the walkers to cut and place on the "TURBO STRIPS" and go out and walk not worrying about whether an oncoming vehicle can see them. This was the final piece to a 20 plus year puzzle that will be out on the market very soon not just for athletes, but the mainstream population!

Positive benefits for geriatric population with potential to stave off the complications associated with osteoporosis and diffuse muscular weakness due to disuse - also known as “frailty syndrome”
I am an orthopaedic spine and trauma surgeon on active staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. Sunnybrook is the largest Level 1 Trauma Center in the country. I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. I am a Past President of the Canadian Spine Society. I am the orthopedic consultant to the Little People of Ontario. I am the orthopedic spine consultant to the Toronto Raptors, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA). My practice involves the conservative and surgical management of patients with spinal conditions. I have seen a large number of spinal trauma patients. The pathology ranges from minor soft tissue injuries that are self-limiting to catastrophic spinal injuries requiring surgery as well as serious spinal cord injuries. A significant component of the practice is geriatric. Many of the issues that we see in this patient population is due to a lack of weightbearing exercise. This can be a cyclical issue resulting in progressive osteoporosis as well as diffuse muscular weakness. In this patient population, walking is a highly recommended form of exercise. Fitness progress with this activity can be enhanced with the use of additional weights. Often wrist weights or ankle weights are used. These can cause skin irritation and chafing. Turbo Strips weigh 4 ounces (113 g) each. Two Turbo Strips are worn on each shoe generating a total of 16 ounces (453 g). Skin irritation and chafing is eliminated. They are easy to put on the shoes. The reflective strips enhance nighttime safety. Aside from the potential benefit of the Turbo Strips for athletes, there is no question that they would be useful for all adults, especially the geriatric population in attempts to stave off the complications associated with osteoporosis and diffuse muscular weakness due to disuse. This is also known as “frailty syndrome”.

I wholeheartedly endorse the use of Turbo Strips, not only for athletics, but for the maintenance and promotion of fitness health in the older adult.

I'm Gary Roberts, former NHL player and owner of Gary Roberts Performance, a multifaceted player development program for top professional hockey players as well as drafted and up-and-coming player prospects worldwide.
I'm very passionate about fitness, nutrition, and recovery strategies that support a healthy lifestyle so I'm always looking for new and effective tools that can help.
I learned about Turbo Strips about 10 years ago when the idea was in its infancy. The idea of placing a weight up and down the eyelets of any piece of footwear was intriguing because it allowed the user to train having extra weight on a piece of footwear without having any type of drag or inconvenience on a joint, like wrist or ankle weights.
Turbo Strips can be easily put on and taken off through their EZON and EZOFF patented design technology that gives an athlete of any sport, or anyone who incorporates walking in their fitness regime, another tool to enhance their overall fitness results and performance.
Turbo strips are the real deal!

I have been a Family Physician in the GTA for 25 years. I support a large practice with patients from all over the GTA and Southern Ontario. My practice consists of pediatric. adult and geriatric patients. Of the many musculoskeletal problems that I encounter, leg/foot muscle imbalances and weakness are among the most common. This leads to injuries, poor rehab progression (post-surgery) and under-performance in athletes of all levels. Turbo Strips are the real deal. By engaging the muscles of the lower and upper legs, Turbo Strips help patients and athletes to be stronger, less likely to get injured and most importantly have an improved quality of life. The nature of the Turbo Strips biomechanically strengthen the Tibialis Anterior muscle group, the patellar tendon, and the quadriceps/hamstring muscle complex. Strengthening of these muscles is the primary therapy and remedy for a multitude of inflammatory and degenerative conditions. Less pain, more power and simple to incorporate in daily life. I am thrilled about this product!

All About Health
Having used some variation of TURBO STRIPS over the last 20 years while the finished product has been developed and patented, they have not only helped me become a better faster skater especially when I was out of competitive hockey for 4 1/2 years, but they allowed me to become fitter in terms of my overall health and wellness. Where TURBO STRIPS differ from other fitness items is in terms of convenience and possible joint strain, they allowed me to maximize my efficiency in terms of time management through EASYON-EASYOFF design. As a PRO HOCKEY player the time I spend getting ready to train on and off the ice is very valuable to me and in this case less time is better. Over my career in the NHL I have been given a nickname of "TURBO". This came from my ability to move my feet very fast and be very tenacious. TURBO STRIPS helped me over the years to attain that name and I would recommend them to anybody who wants to try and get fitter and faster!!
